A sign of spring

Ah. Sheets dried on the line....ummmmm.

Need I say more?  The smell of sheets dried on the line….gotta have clean jammies to sleep on those!

It was 63 degrees here today.  Nice!  The Bearded One planted peas.  I stacked the last load of firewood (should finish us out for the chill mornings/evenings this season and start out the fall).  He found that our 30+ year old circular saw would not give up its current blade so went on a shopping trip to buy a new circular saw.  Tomorrow I will be able to finish cutting the door down to a size that will fit over the new tile in the bathroom.

We tried a couple new recipes for dinner,  Spicy Black Bean Burgers (on homemade whole wheat buns) and Potato Salad.    We like both recipes.  The Bearded One thought the Black Bean Burgers were good but could use a bit more spice.  I thought they were just right.  The potato salad was nice and fresh tasting.  Overall, very good recipes to be repeated.

Spicy Black Bean Burgers

Potato Salad

Both recipes were from The Vegan Table but I added egg white to the burger recipe to hold it all together while it cooked (the last veggie burger recipe I tried fell apart while cooking) and I used Olive Oil Hellman’s mayo in the potato salad (instead of the eggless mayo prescribed).   I will add the recipes to the recipe section for future reference.
