Getting Ready

We are going camping for a few days soon.  Starting to get things ready around the house for the trip.

We went shopping for a longer lead to use with Allie so she can be outside with us at the campground.  She is skeptical about such a weight (the thiggy-ma-jig that hooks her harness to the lead is almost the size of her front leg…they only make these things for small dogs) but she tolerated it in the house today.  She did not have to work hard to get it tangled around any possible object in her path.

We had grilled vegetables (eggplant, mushrooms, red onions, and red peppers) with corn on the cob for dinner.  Yummmm!  It was not even the freshest of corn but still…

Really yummy.  No problem with no meat.

We tried Seitan two nights ago.  The Bearded One actually liked it alot.  He wants to have it again.  I must say that it does have a meatlike texture and takes on the flavor of what it is cooked with.  I am on the fence about it.  I tend to like the real vegetables better but then I know what I am putting in each dish so may have preconceived ideas about what I am eating.
