First Day Camping

We arrived at our campsite on the lake yesterday after about 90 minutes on the road.  Allie started out in her carrier but complained mightily so we let her out but restricted her roaming area so she could not physically bother the driver.  Not that the first half hour of her singing “99 bottles of milk on the wall” at the top of her lungs wasn’t a bit of a bother!  After that though she settled down to look out various windows and doze a bit on the console between us.

She has settled right into life in the trailer.  She thinks it is great that she has her People close at hand at all times.  She has her favorite spots already…under my chair for lurking practice, beside me on the chair (although sharing is not a strong point for her), on a pillow on the couch beside The Bearded One, and under the covers in bed.

On her cushion

Okay, we are on a beautiful lake so I will try to take some pictures of something other than the cat!  But we are pleased that she has settled in so well, the last cat we tried to travel with never did calm down.

Last night we had vegetables and tilapia in packets.  It was a “use what you have” meal so I put in slices of potato, orange bell pepper, red onion, a bit of jalapeno then poured a bit of Vidalia salad dressing over the vegetables, topped it with tilapia wth a bit of Olivio, paprika and fresh parsley on top of the pile.  Then wrapped it tightly and baked it for 20 minutes a 375 oven.  It was delish.  Ah, roughing it at the campground.
