The Magic Coffee Can

OK.  I know I want to see a coffee can first thing in the morning.  Open the lid, sniff the aroma, scoop out the lovely coffee, begin the brew, sip.  Ahhh.

Allie has other thoughts.  We  have had the usual problem of kitten nipping.  (No, not as in sipping alcoholic beverages…).  We have tried yelping OWWW!  when she bites, telling her NO while wagging a threatening finger…with some results but not consistent.  Then I read online about putting coins in a coffee can and shaking it when the kitten bites.  Yikes.  She HATES it.

As soon as she sees the coffee can, she stops in her tracks.  If it is shaken, she runs for the woods and hides in embarrassment.

There is hope that scratched up arms and legs are not forever.

A bit of weeding today, a bit of planting some discount flowers from Lowes in the bare spots of the flowerbeds.

We had Eggplant Parmesan for dinner with a bit of whole grain pasta and marinara on the side.  The Eggplant was made with Baked Eggplant from Recipezaar.  It was great.  (I am an Eggplant Parmesan lover and I liked this much better than fried Eggplant as the base.)

In my natural cat book it suggests grabbing the kitten by the cruff of the neck and pushing down (NOT LIFTING) like a momma cat would do with her mouth during rough play… not sure if that will help but I know from using coke cans with coins as cat repellent for our christmas tree that your idea is awesome!

PS the eggplant parm looks awesome.

Thanks! She is improving but I will try the neck grab thing when I am not near the coffee can.
