As I told you two days ago, we were invaded by some critter who was heard in the attic gnawing and clawing throughout the day. That night the sounds moved to the tool closet downstairs. Luckily, the door to the closet was closed and when we peeked in, there was only one instance where the critter lunged at the crack of the doorway. Otherwise, it disappeared every time we looked in.
We called an exterminator who came yesterday at 8. He was supposed to be there between 3 and 5 but we were still glad to see him at 8 since the noises from the closet of items being shoved off shelves was becoming more fierce.
The exterminator went into the closet and emerged less than 10 minutes later with a cage containing…
So, all is quiet in the attic and the closet again. Whew. We now need to hire someone to trim the trees around the house to make sure branches are at least 12 feet from the roof. Sigh.
The Bearded One wanted ravioli for dinner tonight. We had store bought ravioli – I REALLY have to be in the mood and have a lot of time on my hands to make it from scratch and the store stuff is pretty darn good. But, I did make the sauce from scratch.
I used a favorite recipe for basic pasta sauce from America’s Test Kitchen. It has very few ingredients (olive oil, garlic, tomatoes and basil) but is fresh and tasty and easy.
