Fresh Garden Recipes

Today, the grass was mowed and some trimming back of little trees that self seed in our gardens.  Then midday I prepared dinner to cool in the frig.  Later, I cleaned and organized our large freezer in the garage.  I removed any item that was at all questionable to make room for incoming.  I now know what we have in there (we have a year’s worth of pork for sure)…and what we need to freeze before the winter months come.  A good thing.


The garden recipes today are my sister, Carol’s Gazpacho.  It is the best recipe ever for gazpacho.   Always a winner with my family.  The Bearded One ate about 6 servings!  I also made Black-Eyed Pea and Cilantro salad to up the protein value of the meal.  The two items blended in flavors and values very well.  Yum.

    Bon Appetite! The original or the Speedy—I make the Speedby (in the family book) all the time now but only using the fire roasted tomato salsa from Trader Joes.

    Gosh, I didn’t know there was an “original”! We love the family cookbook version. Good idea for fire roasted salsa when I don’t have the garden outside the door anymore.
