Old Goats…just kidding…at least partly

The Bearded One turned 66 today.  Happy Birthday!  The present I ordered online last week has not arrived but presents are not as important now as in our youth…it will come in its time.  He wanted to have brunch at the local restaurant, Miss Molly’s.  He was hungry for chicken and gravy over mashed potatoes but that was not available at the restaurant so we indulged in other good but unhealthy fare.  Tonight, I made him chicken and gravy over mashed potatoes with succotash on the side.  He was a happy man!

He repaired the flue on the wood stove and rehung my bathroom mirror.  I cleaned bathrooms and replanted some broccoli that had mistakenly been uprooted.  Allie ran from place to place trying to supervise all the projects.  She was exhausted and is filing a complaint with the CAT union.

I glued the Assyrian Goat back together.

I have owned this statue since college days…nearly 40 years.  It has been broken by animals, during moves, by children riding it too rambunctiously and a myriad of other options.  This time it was a dining table leaf falling on it that broke it in four places.  Yet, THE GOAT LIVES ON!  We should take a lesson…I am not sure what the lesson is…but take it!
