Homemade Ice Cream

Okay.  Okay.  I am a sucker for cooking stuff.  I am tempted by gizmos.

Yesterday, I gave in to temptation and bought an electric ice cream maker.

Purty, isn’t it?  I froze the canister overnight and let The Bearded One choose the first recipe.  Simple Vanilla.

30 minutes after starting the machine….ice cream!!!  No ice, no salt, no cranking!!!

Our old ice cream maker…

Great ice cream but LOTS of mess and labor.

Now, easy ice cream with no chemicals.  Woohoo!  Now, to get the recipe refined to reduce fat and sugar.  It will also make frozen yogurt, gelato, and sorbets.  I am excited!
