Holiday Traffic and a Big City

We headed further south today past Chattanooga and into Georgia.  We stopped at a Super Walmart to pick up a few necessities.  Those Walmart Atlases that give all their locations are pretty handy when your rig is 45 feet long!  It is sometimes all to hairy to pull into smaller parking lots!

Sigh.  No Sunday liquor sales in the South….we were not trying for hard stuff…but no beer or wine on Sundays.  Yeesh.

We then headed into Atlanta.  Should be no problem on a Sunday, right?  Unfortunately, the Sunday after New Years is the day for everybody in the world to head home from holidays in wherever they were.  The roads were packed going north and south.  Thank goodness for the Garmin navigator that gave us a heads up miles ahead when we were going to have to go off to the left or right.  You do not change lanes quickly with a big rig.  If only the Garmin could let you know ahead of time when a lane was going to become Exit Only.  Another sigh.

We made it though and are at the Atlanta South RV Park.  Nice.  Quiet.  Lots of pine trees.  No traffic.
