Continuing South

This is out of order.  I am not sure why this did not post last night but I have pledged to try to post every day and it is just January 4 so I cannot have missed a post when I did post….this was from yesterday.

We are now at Cordele, Georgia at a KOA.  It is nice, clean and quiet with a friendly staff.  We caught up on laundry today.  We were not desperate to do laundry but got here early enough that we did it anyway.

Tomorrow, we cross the border into Florida.  We are finally off I-75 and will us much smaller roads to our destination.  That will be interesting.  We could do the drive completely to our final destination but our reservations do not start until the day after tomorrow so might as well take our time.

The cats are growing closer.  VeeGee still spends most of her traveling time behind the folding couch but Allie is electing to spend more and more of her time with VeeGee.  Last night VG joined us all in bed during the night and Allie actually gave her a bath.  This is major!   In the past Allie would have hissed or chased VG or, at least, just tolerated her at the far corner of the bed.  Last night, snuggle and bath!

Today, given the choice, Allie chose to remain in the trailer with VG instead of riding in the truck cab with us!  Yeesh!  The Bearded One suggested (jokingly) that we stop at an animal shelter to pick up some animal companions since we were all alone.  The cats traveled behind the couch all day and Allie only emerged after dinner.  She is sleeping on the couch beside The Bearded One at this point but she occasionally gets up on the back of the couch and peers down at VG.  Longingly.

Hmmm.

We used the leftover black eyed peas from New Years to make vegetarian tacos for dinner.  Just added salsa and cheese.  Really good.
