Quick Brioche and Pan Roasted Bay Scallop

ANOTHER beautiful day on the panhandle of Florida in January.  It started out rainy but the sun came out for most of the day and it was glorious.

Allie took The Bearded One for a walk.

Actually, she took him for three walks.  When he brought her in, she would stand at the screen door and cry so he took her out again.  Shortly after the last walk an RV parked in the next site and a man did all the hookups and then was walked by his cat.  Allie and the neighbor cat my vie for best cat staff for the next few days.

We had Pan Roasted Scallops from Food and Wine Magazine.  Pretty good.  But the recipe find of the day was Quick Brioche from Piece of Cake blog.  I needed just breadcrumbs from brioche for the scallop recipe but the bread itself tastes darn good.  Probably not as good as the recipes that take a day but darn good for an afternoon!

(I would add more pictures to these blogs but the internet hookup is extremely slow at times and frequently locks up when uploading pics…)

  1. I would stay way longer down there–why come back to this weather????

I certainly glad I am not coming anywhere near Chicago! The Bearded One is ready to come home, although I am not sure he is realistic about what the weather will be when we get there! Anyway, we plan on taking our time, wending our way back.
