Not for Sissies

I have heard the expression, “Old Age is Not for Sissies” and it is true.

But, yesterday, caring for my grandsons while my daughter and her husband were having her health issue resolved (successfully, thank goodness!), I was reminded that parenthood is not for sissies either.  Boy, being on the top of your game, ready for anything, trying to stay a step ahead, etc., takes everything out of you and a bit more.  I was tuckered out at the end of the day.  Happily tuckered, but tuckered.

And, I am reminded that early adulthood is too tough for sissies, too!  Starting careers, uncertain finances, not having the “things” that seem so important in those years, forming relationships….

Gosh, where do sissies go these days?
