The Contrast of Spring

I did a load of laundry today.  Dark colors.  While unloading, I had to reflect on the contrasts of spring.  In this load there were shorts and jeans, tank tops and flannel shirts.  In the past week we have burned fires in the wood stove and are running the air conditioner today.  In the next few days we may be burning the stove again.

The only thing we have not experienced in the past days is a day without the threat of rain…if not a downright downpour!  I know some of you need this rain but we would share some with you!  I am not complaining though.  Those poor folks on the Mississippi.  My thoughts are with you!  So many natural disasters this year!

May 15th is the last expected frost date for this area so we are getting ready to plant the bulk of the garden.  Here are our seedlings today…

Eggplant, tomatoes, hot peppers, sweet peppers, parsley, basil, flowers, artichokes

Tomorrow…into the garden!  Real gardening begins!
