Unexpected.

We expected to spend the weekend at the trailer in the new campsite.  It is supposed to be the first two days in a while without rain.  We moved the trailer out to the site today and got it situated where it can stay for months to come.  We unhooked from the trailer and got things leveled.  Then, plugged in the electricity and…nothing.

The electricity was supposed to have been turned on yesterday.  But, nothing.

We returned home and I called the utility company.  They “could not find the address”.  Duh.  Who cannot find an address in these days of GPS?  They had our phone number but NO.  They could not even call to tell us they were not able to set up the electrical hookup.

Instead, I called and tried not to be too testy with the customer service guy I reached….he had nothing to do with the crappy service.  Anyway, they are going to call us 30 minutes ahead of time on Monday so we can escort them to the site.  Sigh.

It must be for a purpose.  Now we can spend some of the sunny weather planting the garden.

Another unexpected thing.  This one very positive.

Someone close to us has been diagnosed with Psoriatic Arthritis and has been taking heavy duty chemo for months to deal with the disease.  The medications have helped but have scarey side effects including compromising the immune system.

Recent medical complications forced this lovely woman to go off the medications for a period of time.  She decided to try to deal with the pain by modifying diet.

Miraculously, eliminating dairy from her diet had greatly diminished the pain!  Further, reducing the gluten in the diet has helped with inflammation.  It seems the diet modifications may be as effective as the chemo.  Without the side effects!

It is wonderful!  Why do doctors not recommend this out of the box?

Long may it continue!

Many Western doctors don’t believe in diet modification as a means to an end. I am glad that she is seeing such an improvement. I know my knees don’t hurt when I am strict, but I didn’t think that would translate out to this disease. I hope she continues to find success. If she does, she might consider seeing what happens if she eliminates caffiene and sugar. That could also help.

Luckily, she does not drink coffee or caffienated beverages. She has not been using sugar for some time. I think the dairy and gluten may be her answers, I hope. I have been inspired by your diet. I want to be moderate and have the luxury of not having the reactions, at this time, that you and K have. Best wishes on your journey.
