My New Project

We have lived in this house for almost 32 years and I am still landscaping!

Several years ago, we had the side of the yard between the garage and a side street contoured to allow us to drive the truck and trailer in and out without backing it up.  Last year, we had the whole area graveled.

In the nonce, a steep area between the drive and the street was a weedy mess.  I had tried to contour it with scrap stone laying about the yard and put a few perennials in the beds but it was a halfway job and did not look all that good.

This year I have decided to do a better job of landscaping the area.

Our neighbor is a very resourceful guy.  He does some contracting and is constantly buying or bartering materials.  This year he had some firewood and some stone…tons of stone!  So, last Thursday, he delivered 2800 lbs of flagstone for me.

This morning I started on the project.  I plan to work on it a little each morning.  I will show you the ‘progress’ each day.

and AFTER...really only weeding and cutting back perennials on this side...

And another angle…

AFTER. (The stone on the right side of these pictures is the 2800 pounds that I am using for the project...I think I will need more.)
