The Bearded One and I traveled to the Smoky Mountains last weekend to meet my sister and brother-in-law for a brief visit. They had traveled from Texas to attend the races at the Kentucky Speedway and were hoping to catch the autumn color in the Smokies.
Unfortunately, the leaves were just beginning to change in the area…sorry, Wesley!….(he has never experienced true fall color…BUT, the setting was beautiful and we enjoyed the visit together.
They had rented a “cabin”. (Can you call an abode with three levels of decks overlooking beautiful mountain scenery, a cabin?) and we brought our camper.
We had a great steak dinner. Wesley is a grill master….best job cooking steaks ever! The next morning, a great breakfast. Life is good.
In between we spent much of our time on the decks. Beautiful. Restful. Comfy.
Something I have always treasured about my family…we take time to be together no matter what. Long may that continue.
