The Best Laid (or is it Layed) Plans…definitely laid just not best

As you know we are on the road with the camper.  It is the latter days of October and many…if not most…northern campgrounds have closed.  It makes it challenging finding a campground without driving hours and hours each day.

So each evening we plan for the next day’s trip.  How did people ever plan trips without computer access and navigation during the day?

It has been working fine, until today.

We planned to stop in Howe’s Cave, NY.  Since it was going to be a relatively short day, we stopped two places to pick up supplies so were running  as late as we like when we reached the area of our planned campground.  We looked and looked for it.  Finally, called from a shopping center parking lot.

Closed due to the owner’s health problems.

Note to self.  Phone ahead.

The nearest campground we could find open was an additional hour and a half drive.

The good news is that we made it.  It was a beautiful drive through the Catskills.  And most of it shortens our trip tomorrow.

Tomorrow, the Boston area and no driving for 48 hours!  Woohoo!  Not to mention joy at seeing our daughter etc..

When you click on the little “Boston area” hyperlink to the map, look at the bottom right—the little circle that says “Pleasure Bay”. I live right by that. 24 hours and you’ll get to see it! Oh, and me too. :o)

Word on the street is that it’s supposed to be pretty sunny tomorrow and a high of 60-65ish. Since we live next to the water we’ll probably have a breeze though, so layer!
