It is the third of December, so one does not expect it to be warm anymore. Today it was in the low 50’s and sunny. Yippee. One more chance to get some things done in the yard.
The Bearded One planted the asparagus that he had ordered but was delayed and the weather has been cold and rainy since it arrive. Yay. It is planted AND it is off the kitchen counter. (We are constantly competing for counter space…me for cooking…he for reading and storing.)
I stacked (with his help) the cord of firewood we had delivered yesterday. We have gone through a cord of wood just heating the house at a low level (has not been COLD yet). The furnace has not had to run very often, just in the early morning between the time the woodstove goes out and we start a new fire).
It felt good to get things done out there.
I had planned to make a new vegetarian enchilada recipe from Vegetarian Times but our small town grocery did not have Chiles in Adobo…who does not have THAT these day? So, I decided on a Swiss Chard and quinoa recipe BUT we were out of quinoa. We are NEVER out of quinoa. I even went out to the camper to get quinoa. NONE! This is not right! So, we had Shrimp Risotto. Yummy.
