Home Again and a New Project

We have returned home after three glorious months in the South avoiding the worst of winter.  We are grateful for the generosity of Sister Pat and Brother-in-law Wesley in hosting us for a bit over two months of that time on their ranch in Texas.  It was wonderful!

Now, we are back in Ohio and have unpacked most of the stuff one carries on a three month trip.  BUT, I am starting on a new project to improve the homefront.  I have been thinking about this project for most of the time we have been gone.  I have decided that since downsizing is probably not practical with home prices being what they are, we should enjoy the house we have.   After all, it is paid for, and there are rooms we just do not use.  Like the living room…or the front room….as it may.  Here it is as it stands when we return and what it looks like after two days of heavy lifting and washing contents.

After clearing things out. Moving in the TV and rocking chairs. Eventually there will be a new sofa bed joining the rocking chairs and a gas log stove that is much cuter than the current gas stove.

I was going to get rid of the glass table but think that I will use it for my art projects perhaps. I will see how it works out. The computer has moved to this desk.

The wing chairs have moved to a sunny alcove for reading or thinking.

The china hutch has moved to the hearth room as has the dining table. The hutch keeps it from being matchy matchy.

The sofa has moved to the Library. It complements the paintings well.

Just the beginning of the project.  I am pleased to be using the “front room” for the first time in years.  The list of things to buy includes a sofa bed, gas log stove, rugs….so far.
