We opened up the “Lake House” this weekend. Actually, we keep a trailer at a campground at a nearby lake and we spent three days opening it up after 6 months. We had repairs to make, cleaning to do, airing out, and breathing. Generally, we have the trailer closed up from November to March or April but last year due to family issues, we closed it down in late August and due to weather conditions did not open it up until the end of April. Nice to be back.
We also took the next step on the Living Room Project. The area rugs (ordered from Rugs Direct.com) arrived quickly. We like them. Here is the larger one at the lounge end of the room….
I also added storage baskets to the coffee table. We are pleased. There is a smaller version of the same rug at the office end of the room. It seems to be a nice blend of antique and contemporary like the rest of the room.
Next window treatments. There are plantation shutters on the windows that will remain. I am leaning toward curtains made from canvas drop cloths. Not sure but worth a shot on one window to see how it looks.
And pillows for the couch. Accent but not obnoxious.
